I don't know much (well, probably anything) about this kinda thing but I thought you had to have 2 of each thing for pollination? Or am I barking up the wrong fruit bush?

Hia Estcourt! I would have thought you can grow them close together. My parents have raspberries and blackberries, and the plants are about 2 or 3ft apart. I think you will need some space to avoid mildew, and of course you need to be able to get to the plants to harvest, feed, water and maintain the plants.
You'd probably be best to put all the raspberries together, all the blackberries together, etc so that they can pollinate. And don't forget that you'll need to net your fruits to stop the birds eating them!

I was asking about red/blackcurrant bushes earlier today elsewhere and was advised 6' apart as they grow quite large in time and not to plant in waterlogged soil. There are some varieties that self-pollinate but don't ask me which ones lmao. This site has a handbook I think will make good reading. Have only skimmed it so far. www.blackmoor.co.uk/handbook.php?osCsid=a14ca49dd5469f9d2790f8537bee9a01
