Never mind Pam, at least you had a go !!
And by the way, this is not the beeb - if you spot a spelling mistake in your post, you can always modify your own post rather than doing another one.

Oh no, what a disappointment. I hate that! I tried a different way of growing aubergines this summer and that was a dismal failure - you wait all summer.......never mind, always next year.

For me, part of the "fun" of gardening is having dismal failures and learning from them !

The sweet potato was delicious!!!
OH was having lamb - I don't eat lamb! I made a leek and sweet potato risotto - no recipe ,just made it up as I went along!! Added some coconut milk, coriander and lime juice!
It was lovely but I don't think I will grow them again !

Hi I'd seen Sweet Potato slips in one of the catalogues - and for a brief moment was tempted - until I read your post!! Like the other posts, I agree that it's worth having a go. I had a go with Romanesco this year and a dismal failure, more annoying is that I've found it for sale in a local supermarket The Risotto sounds delish......<getting peckish smiley!!> GH
