I keep meaning to take a photo but its dark when I get at night now In my new garden I have an empty vegetable patch, its empty except for three leggy bushes, these bushes have pale and dark green speckled leaves and blue/lilac flowers, when the flower has gone there is what looks like a small gooseberry with a papery petal shell round it. Any ideas??

Hi Trunkyjo
They are full of black seeds, I wouldn't try eating one if I were you!
If you leave them to ripen, you will get them popping up all over your garden. If you pick them before they scatter their seeds, you can plant them where you like. They are a hardy annual.
Enjoy!
