I do realise that I live in the back of beyond but I have just come back from the Supermarket and for the first time I have seen and bought "red kiwi's" which taste gorgeous.
Does anyone know the proper name and if they can be grown in the garden please?

Hi CC
Thanks for the link although I couldn't get it to work. I will go into the website and look around.
They really are lovely looking things and taste really nice.

Hi Rosefriend ... sorry, I didn't do it properly. If you copy everything (i.e. including 'melanandra' at the end), and then paste it into the address bar, it will work ... cheers ...

Just came across this thread and was curious, never seen or heard of a Red Kiwi before so looked for a picture ;D. www.alibaba.com/catalog/11001705/Red_Kiwi_Fruit.htmlThey look lovely, what did they taste like rosefriend, sweeter than the greens one I would imagine.

Hi BB
They are gorgeous - far sweeter than the green or the yellow ones to my mind, and I did use some as a garnish - they looked lovely.
I went back a couple of days later to get some more and they had sold out - I haven't been able to get any since. I do hope that I can get some next year.
