MIL has just rung and said that she has found out that the raspberry canes we have on the allotment are of the Autumn Fruit type. The questions she would like me to ask you lot (she knows about you all! ;D) are:
1) Is it right that they need pruning to a couple of inches now?
2) As we have so many, can we move some? Will they survive? Any special way of doing it?
Thanks in advance.
Skarloey.

Thanks Roxann, what a smashing website. I've stuck it in my favourites. ;D I'm going to bring a few canes home then and see how they get on with being moved. Good luck with your move too Lottie. ;D

Probally Ziggy, alot of my canes have buds forming already. I think its best to transplant them when they are dormant. Up north you may be able to wait a little longer depending on the temperature. How about putting them in pots in the next couple of weeks and then transplanting them later as you should be able to plant potted canes at any time.

Thanks Roxann...that may be an idea. If OH gets my greenhouse base down then i could get them moved sooner...but weather not favourable.
