A moral and a gardening question.
Is it OK to use manure from circus animals?

Thanks Chuckles. We have been having trouble with cats as well, so a bit of tiger's would be great. But what do tigers eat other than meat? Frosties?

Bit of a hijack I guess but lion manure, and come to think of it cats and dogs, is a natural way of composting material. Why is it a big No-No to do this in our gardens? Anything living eventually rots down, generally by being digested in some way, and returns goodness to the soil.
Question is, am I being thick?
Just like to add, I only compost plant life because of what I read should and should not be composted, but I can't see a reason why not meat. Ok it may attract vermin but is there any other reasons?

My OH and I are watching a Zoo series at the moment and people are queuing up for Elephant's poo apparently.
As they are vegetarians it is very good and there is certainly loads of it!!

Didn't realise vegetarians ate elephant poo, though little surprises me, these days...

A moral and a gardening question. Is it OK to use manure from circus animals? Sorry, weedhatch, missed the original question in the rush to make a gag... I think from vegetarian animals it's going to be as useful as any other form of manure and in the case of lion 'brand' a reputed rabbit deterrent, so the second part's easy. I don't go to circuses anymore (not very keen on zoos for that matter) but I think if it was offered I would use it on the basis that a) recycling is generally a good thing, and b) the free issue or even sale of 'circus manure' is hardly likely to be a determining factor in the economic existence or not of a circus. So I wouldn't feel I was perpetuating/subsidising it. So yes, borderline moral too. OM.
