One of my crowns of rhubarb is insisting on flowering again. I split it last year as I read this would sort it out The leaves look different to the other crowns - any ideas how to sort it out?

While on the subject of rhubarb - I have some on the lottie that I inherited so have no idea of the variety - I haven't picked any before so how do you know when it is ready? The sticks are not very long or red yet.

How different is different? Plus cut the flower off now and get as close to the crown as you can get, don't leave a stub! A lot can depend upon variety but here is a picture of mine when I picked some last year;

How different is different? Lighter colour and more upright leaves with thinner stalks. Me thinks its destined for the compost bin as it is taking up valuable space and mulch
