Hello FA, i think you mentioned somewhere on here about having mashed up sprouts with cream cheese for christmas dinner. I have been thinking about this a lot and the more I think the more I like the idea of it. Do you have some sort of recipe or recommendation for what type of cheese? I knwo essentially mased sprouts with cream cheese should just consist of mashing sprouts and mixing with cream cheese but does the cheese need to be warmed up? how long should I cook the sprouts to mashable consistancy, how much cream cheese? As you can tell my cooking skills are almost as bad as my gardening skills

I think it was me who referred to that in Rita's "sprouts" thread......although fat Andy is very apt at the mo !!!
To tell you the truth TJ, i've never done it before....it was just something i thought of there and then.
Personally, i'd cook the sprouts until they were firm, not soggy or soft....you can test with a knife throughout the cooking (usually i steam mine and it takes about 20 minutes) and then only lightly mash them with a fork. I'd then add whatever cream cheese you fancy, but i'd add it cold. Mascapone or ricotta would be nice.
It would be nice to add some finely chopped fresh mint at the end too.
All trial and error really....let us know how they turn out if you do them
