Did something different this year which I can really recommend - pot roast in port and red wine with mushrooms, shallots, chestnuts, garlic and thyme. Absolutely stunning with gravy to die for.

I roasted mine upside down and stuffed ith with butter mixed with lemon thyme from the garden.....and it was awesome !!!
Got loads left along with the gammon so i'm going to make a turkey, ham and leek pie tomorrow !!!

Phwar that sounds nice! We hardly have any turkey left over which is a great shame but it does mean that we got the right sized bird. There was plenty for lunch on Christmas Day, leftovers yesterday, and sarnies today. There's a bit left, and mum has some of it too, but I don't think there's even enough for a curry!
