Do you butter both pieces of bread when making a sarnie.
I never have...don't know why but just never thought of it. But my daughter pulled me up on it the other day and asked why i don't because she does and so does mum.

Nooooo! That would be wrong! Butter your 'base' bread, and use the condiment on the 'roof' to stick it all together. Mayonnaise, mustard, pickle are all suitable sandwich glue! ;D

It depends on the filling. If it's a moist filling I don't usually bother with butter, but if it's a dry filling I do. I always butter bacon butties

I don't eat sandwiches anymore cause i'm allergic to wheat...but when i did i used to not bother with butter unless a dry filling. If i did butter the bread then it had to be the two slices....and for some reason it drives me to distraction if it's not done.....why butter just one side? Another pet hate is when folk just fold over a slice to make a buttie rather than put another slice on top! Aaarrrgh. I can actually feel my blood pressure rising thinking about it! Probably a good thing i don't eat bread anymore ....not good for my health!
