So many of us seem to be roast dinner fans, judging by the What's for T thread

It's got to be beef! Slow cooked 'til it's melt-in-the-mouth tender, with red wine gravy and home made yorkshire pud! Yum!

I love em all but it was a close call between pork and lamb with roast pork with crackling coming top.
Had roast pork yesterday and guess what's for dinner today....cold roast pork and chips with loads of pickle !!!!

I can, and do, eat all of the above. And making the decision caused a bit of 'brow furrowing' but I opted for pork. I love a little bit of crackling (and the memory of my OH's dad chomping on it). I like it with a good cauliflower cheese, roast pots (done in goose fat) and fresh, al dente veg. Not particularly healthy (apart from the veg) but we have it only 'once in a while' and it's all the more delicious for it. ;D

I like them all but I plumped for roast beef cos I like the tatties when they soak up all the juices and go nice and crispy. Mmmmm

Lamb. With mint sauce, roast tatties and all the trimmings. Lush. My absolute favourite.

Roast beef (but roast pork is a very close second) - with all the trimmings and if there is some leftover - reheated with lots of gravy and dumplings the next day!!! x Tig

I love all except Lamb, use to love it but got too involved hand rearing Lambs in the past. Bit hypercritical I guess but it did me, it's the smell of it raw now that I can't stand.

It's nice to see that beef is still popular although I didn't expect it to be the winner.

I can't eat, touch or cook Lamb either Chuckles! OH loves a roast lamb dinner but he cooks it himself. We used to have fields at the bottom of our garden and one day I saw the Lambs playing 'tag' - they were nudging each other and then running up the field and back - I haven't been able to touch lamb since that day.

Glad it's not just me! We're surrounded by the little things in spring and I just cannot bring myself to eat lamb anymore. I know it is hypocritical because I munch away on other meats, not always 'happily' but I do. I'm sure if cows and pigs were around I'd begin to feel the same way about beef and pork and then I'd have to become vegetarian I think!

Well he likes eating them!!! His dad was a farmer with mostly sheep and cows. According to BIL they found the sheep prone to sickness and much he preferred rearing the cattle (for beef ). I must admit that his cows were lovely animals - they had lovely lush fields, and barns full of straw and hay they could go to when they wanted if it was cold and wet. Lance (BIL's dad) genuinely cared for his cows and was always quite sad when they had to go to market or to slaughter. I've eaten his beef though, and it's gorgeous

I like a nice fresh, free range chicken. We get beef occasionally from the same farm-shop...they slaughter their own ( ) but at least I know where the beast is coming from....
