I have my egg chopped with bits of bread , i often have it as a snack, i loved it when i was little and i still do.

I remember eggy bread as what I'd now call 'french toast'. Whisked egg, soak the bread in it and gently fry in butter. Add a little sugar (if you wish). This was also a treat when we were little and very poor. Kept the wolves away from the door.

Yes Karenwl that's just what I was thinking when I posted. Cant remember us having jam with it but it would have been very tasty.
