As the weather's awful, i've been doing some baking today.
Firstly melting moments. A lovely biscuit that my late mother in law showed me how to cook.....
10 oz SR flour 8 oz butter 6 oz caster sugar 1 egg
optional
Glace cherries (halved) dessicated coconut or crushed cornflakes.
mix the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy add in the flour and egg and mix until a dough is made
Seperate into golf ball sized lumps and roll into the coconut or cornflakes.
Put on greased paper on a baking tray and flatten the balls out with the palms of the hand.
Add half a glace cherry to the middle then bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden
Delish !!!
I'm going to try some brandy snaps later

Oh my I haven't eaten home-made brandy snaps for YEARS!!! How did yours turn out Andy, and what did you fill them with - fresh cream hopefully!!! ;D I like the sound of your melting moments and might give them a go. If they don't get eaten immediately, how long do they keep for, potentially? Just one question - what temperature do you have the oven at?
