It got me wondering, what are your Top 3 herbs Mine would have to be 1. Basil.....something so summery about it ;D 2. Thyme.....goes with just about everything 3. Sage....nice plant, nice smell, fab with pork ;D

1. I'll always recall the night of the 1997 General Election when Mrs Cabbage the glorious leader declared the immortal words ....... ....Coriander, coriander, coriander! You can never have enough coriander 2. We grow copious amounts (and varying types) of chives too. 3. Basil? Basil? It would be unCybille not to grow it. I think I have all of the 1960's black & white telly children's "Herbs" programme growing here even though I am far too young to remember it Angelica - Also though? Why I have so much of this?

I also have the all herbs that Simon & Garfunkel sing about in Scarboro' Fair....although I don't grow the "herbs" they were probably on when they wrote the song

1) Rosemary. I use this with roast lamb, i even thread diced lamb onto woody lengths of rosemary for kebabs. Lovely on roast potatoes with garlic too.
2) Mint. I use it on lamb, new potatoes and i also make up a potaoe sald using hot new potatoes, cream cheese and chopped fresh mint.
3) Thyme (common and lemon). Use on roast and new potatoes, spag bol, chicken and anything slightly meditterannean
