hi, are any of you growing giant equisetum in your ponds. i put one in early last year and expected to see good growth on it but so far all ,ve had 3 weedy spikes , i,ve got it on a shallow shelf. photos on the web look great but i,m very dissapointed

I don't have any in my pond - as you say it is a giant I guess you are referring to equisetum robustum as opposed to e. japconicum or e. scirpoides I would suggest that as your plant is very young, and it is still very early in the season, there is still plenty of time for it to put on plenty of growth. www.btinternet.com/~pigott/equisetum/leaflet.htmlSome plants are slower to establish than others too, sorry I can't help you further but as I have said I don't have any experience with equisetum.
