last week one of my sarrassa comets seemed to have a swim bladder problem, however it seems to be o.k. now apart from spending periods immobile in the plant growth and it has quite a few scales missing down one side. has anyone had a similar problem. all the other fish are o.k.

Hi beanie It's the breeding season you know your comet could have lost some scales down one side due to hanky panky Fish are really boisterous during the mating season, the males have just one thing on their mind and don't care how much pushing and shoving goes on in the process. Your comet may well have been pushed against rough objects, like planting baskets or the pond's wall during a mating frenzy. The fish is probably hiding in the plant growth of your pond hoping for some peace and quiet, and hiding from over amorous males too. It's not uncommon for pond fish to die at this time of year due to over exhaustion
