Hi Chuckles, My friend has one and I must say that hers is pretty pathetic but on saying that it is very small. It's a bit like comparing solar lighting with electric lighting, if you know what I mean Maybe someone else knows different. S x

we have them on display at work and they seem to work OK but they're only gentle type things, no gushing water anywhere.

Mmmmm I had wondered if the difference between solar lights and eletric lights would be a good comparison. What a shame one would have been ideal even if they gave a little bit of a gush. Never mind, good to here your opinions

Not the same, I know, but my wife bought a solar powered air pump for the pond last year and it was next to useless, only good if the sun was out and strong.

I had one a couple of years back - it floated in a 'feature' and the real problem was that water falling from the jet dried on the solar panel and the resultant film gradually reduced its generating power... if reachable for occasional cleaning, it's an easy way of getting that 'running water' sound though, and brings a little pond to life. Probably helps aerate it too... OM

Plocket has a solar powered water thingy - I'm sure she rigged something up so that the sensor on hers was in the sun all day - maybe give her a PM if she doesn't spot this thread Chuckles!

Thanks for all you help. I have a fish "tank" - it used to be used when the place was a farm, for overflow of rainwater. It is in full sun all day which does not seem to bother the fish at all, but it is about 5 feet deep. I had thought of trying a solar water feature in that - no gungy stuff as the fish eat it all. If I get one, I'll let people know the results. The usual terrible puns, Chuckles!!!
