Looks a bit overwatered. Should never have more than 2 pairs of leaves.
Once the new pair of leaves appear it shouldn't be watered until the old pair have dried up.
I think it could look better if re-rooted in spring. Cut off just below the bottom pair of leaves, leave for a couple of weeks then stand on sandy compost and keep barely moist. Will even produce rootlets if kept dry.

OK reet-reet, this is what you have to do:-
Get the plant down to one pair of leaves. Now use your fingers and when the leaves feel soft give enough water to get them hard again by the following day. The art is not to give too much water so that they either split or grow more leaves nor to give too little so that they don't flower. Argyrodermas are a particular problem in this regard but well worth the effort.

Reet, did you see the programme last night on 2 about Namaqualand? Lots of living stones there, mostly Argyrodermas.

Hi there,
I have some Lithops seeds I would like to sow but I have never had much luck with them in the past, have you got any tips?
Thanks Paul

Will do Paul.
Watch this space (or rather the greenhouse space) towards the end of Feb when I will be doing cactus/succulent seed sowing. Best to wait until then.

Mick, you are a star. Thanks I love Lithops/Living Stones but they never seem to survive long for me so I gave up. I used to collect Stamps when I was younger and South Africa had a set on succulents. I was hooked on them from then. May have sounded a geeky hobby but the stuff you learn from them ia amazing.

Paul, they aren't that difficult but there are certain rules you must follow and once you've cracked them you won't lose any more.

Too much watering I am afraid Reet. When you get the new one, you must treat it mean.
Like your men.
