anyone got any seeds going spare ? i'd really like to get some of these in the garden next year. the ones i saw up on the lottie (i'm not in there yet so can't really barge in and ask the owner) were such a vivid bright orange that i really want some.
have got a selection of normal type veggie/flowery things in return.
;D

Morning mrskp, Calendulas come in so many shades that if you want a specific colour you need to take seeds from the plant really - can't you mosey down there and snip the heads off the ones you like when no one's looking?? Most Calendulas set loads of seeds so you're not doing anyone out of their seeds. Most of mine are mixed shades although I'd be very happy to try and earmark the brightest ones for you.

OOO! me too, if thats not too much trouble, mum used to grow them when I was a child and they are on my "must have" list for next year, (want to try to make that skin cream ) I f you have enough spare seeds I would be happy to swap, or purchase some from you! I grew Tagetes( African Marigold) at the lottie this year, around my carrots and carrot root fly made no appearance, so really getting into companion planting. Mum grew Calendula as a sacrificial plant.. blackfly prefer them to runner beans! ;D ;D

I'll see if I've got any seed coming - it's been such a funny year I'm not sure if they'll have managed to reproduce!
Will let you know...

I would be most obliged 4 pygmies. orange is good ! ANY orange. ;D one of my mates on another (football) board, was being helpful and cutting the lawn one day ........... saw this orange daisy ( ) and promptly ran over it with the lawn mower ! No. 1 son instantly told him that it was one of the "mum's" fave plants in the whole wide world (calendula). The stump got covered with a cardboard box for a while before she discovered the truth. She wasn't a happy lady and he got sent somewhere similar to the naughty corner ! I've a feeling this particular chap spends a lot of time there. ;D

The sun came out today and I couldn't get on the MB's so I have been sipping seed heads. I can't guarantee that the Calendulas are deepest orangy orange but they are that way inclined. I have several platefuls of Marigold seeds so if anyone want to PM me their addresses I'd be very happy to send them some.

It's my pleasure, both of you. With gardening , as with everything else, play it forward. And I really hope they come out orange too!
