Anybody know what they need for success, is it even the right time of year?... I pinched a bit of my friends plant the other night, (just happened to have my knife in my handbag, smiley)

I've never grown them from cuttings.....i'd imagine they'd wilt very quickly so i'd probably try to root them in water.
Let us know how they get on.

Sweetleaf, they are easy from cuttings taken in the normal way in compost but I have always done them in Spring and never at this time of the year.

Oh well Mick I`ll give it a go anyway, my friend wont listen to frost warnings, Im sure he`ll lose the parent plant, and so I cant wait for spring! If I fail I`ll try some from seed next year.........

Sweetleaf, in actual fact they can make it through the winter outside. Yes, they will appear totally dead at the end of winter but leave well alone and there is every chance that they will sprout again from beneath the soil. It has happened for me many times.

How's the potted up cutting doing sweetleaf. I've done cuttings in Portugal and been very successful, might try one from seed next year.
