So thats why the leaves on mine look so dull........it's dust....... As my house is so old and I have a dog and a dirty builder (OH) my house is always dusty. Could do it twice a day I bought one of those Pledge fluffy things, there nice and soft so don't damage your plants and you can wash the fluffy thing out in warm soapy water. They don't say that but I do it and they are ok ;D

Sometimes before showing them I use the tiny nozzle attachment that I have to get the dust off between the ribs. Also good for red spider mite as you say SL but Thy have usually done the damage before I notice them.

I read this in the gardening section of the paper on Saturday BTW ;D
Try holding the vacuum cleaner hose above plants while tapping them to catch white fly

Usually around this time of year, i'll spend all afternoon in the conservatory and hand clean every leaf on my two weeping figs with a cloth and warm, soapy water (fairy liquid). I have the radio on and i find it soooo relaxing. I really need to get out more

I put mine in the shower as well (the house plants that is) and also out in the rain if not cold.

I do put them out in the rain when it isnot cold, almost always it makes the rain stop. The sun does show up the dust doesnot it. I think my 'parrot flower' busy lizzie has red spiders, but I can't see the web, I think I'll operate today on the tops, but the scale insects have been really bad recently on all sorts.
