I've been in the GH this morning pottering, planning, thinking and moving stuff around ;D as you do ;D It occurred to me that I haven't suffered with whitefly. Now, I've had 4 pots of Lemon Scented Geranium in the GH all year, it does smell very strong. Does anyone think that it has helped or is this a common known thing and I'm just a Noonoo

That could possibly be the reason, though I can't confirm this for you. I have had French Marigolds in mine and have had no trouble with whitefly, I do believe in companion planting it does work.

Going back to the original question - It probably did help as legend has it that any “lemony” smelling stuff, lemon verbena, lemon grass, lemon balm etc deters flies of all sorts. Just one thing though….if true.....and I don‘t doubt it….how come my lemon tree gets attacked by bloody whitefly each winter?
