My Yellow flag irises. This is only their 3rd summer from a little potful. And yes, there is actually a small pond under that lot!! Also a beautiful freak from my home grown Aquilegia Skinnerii. I certainly never had a yellow Aqui before Aren't plants wonderful? ;D ;D

Thanks therover - we are having seeds trials this year and some of us are growing Sunflowers - mmmh - well thanks to the rain the lucky winner of the tallest Sunflower will probably be someone that doesn't live in Europe!!

Mine are only half the size of last years.The ones I Grew were just called Sunflower Giant,on the packet it said 6ft max my tallest was 15ft 6ins.I will get nowhere near this year.Just hope the weather bucks up it's so depressing therover

Great- 15ft 6inches - that isn't bad going is it!!! What on earth did you get to hold it up??
The dwarf Sunflowers that I have sown are very good - one is even 1m 40 cms and they should only grow to 40cms!!
However the others - Titan are only about 2 meters - should be over 4 meters.
As you can see I don't live in the UK but as far as I can see it makes no difference as far as the weather is concerned.
A bit of sunshine would do us and the plants all good I reckon.

I grew 6 on the gable end of my garage.I fastened garden nettng up the wall and tied it up as it grew.1m 40cms for a dwarf variety sounds impressive. therover

Tangutica Jlottie but I wouldn't know which one! The bees love it and the seed-heads are magnificent. Mine's slightly more orange but only has one flower at the moment
