Starting an Orange thread sounds like a good idea alicat. Look forward to seeing your pics in it, I'll add some tommorow.
As you are going to bed, hope you don't mind if I post your message about Smilies as a seperate thread,, everyone will see it then. They may not all look at the Yellow thread. Hope thats ok.

The NMs are STILL growing strong, and the lilies still have one or two buds to pop.

The only yellow flowers in my garden at the moment are Tangutica and LP's sunflowers. They are so bright and cheerful though!

Thanks you all, At least I now know where to go on a drab and dreary day. Isn't yellow a great garden colour. I bought some yellow Narcissus yesterday. When they flower next year I will post them. Some of the pictures up close really blew my mind. I now want a camera that can do the same ( and a not so shaky hand ) hug Dutchy

I have a dwarf iris on my rockery at home....it's been given more than its fair share of neglect over the years but today, it's flowered for the first time in 8 years. Don't know what it's called....i lost the label but the cultivar was "apricot" What a stunner !!!

Thanks Chuckles and Isabella - the viola are lovely Chuckles - we only plant pansies her in the Spring and autumn - there are not known as a summer flower.
The plant above is Eleutherococcus sieb. 'Variegatus' - it used to be called Acanthapanax sieboldianus 'Variegatus'.
It doesn't flower as far as I know (never has with me) but has nasty thorns and is a dream of a plant because it tolerates anything you throw at it - sun, full shade, water, little water etc. I just put it wherever I have a space and it grows.
