It worked and how lovely it all looks, you have done well. Lovely plants and I'm very envious of the wall, nice to see old fashioned brick edges too. Thanks for sharing your baby canarycreeper

Thanks for the kind comments ... but I only photographed the good bits. There's a whole swathe that is - simply - an ugly mess and is not being let anywhere near a camera. And bits that looked good six weeks ago now look boring and dead ... I still have not mastered the year-around-interest trick ... cheers ...

Yes, CBP, it's lavatera ... great plant for newbies, I found, not only do they germinate easily but are quite happy to be transplanted to any empty gaps and keep on flowering (they're still going strong) ... the white one is also very nice against dark evergreens ... cheers ...

it really does look lovely. if you have done all that in only 15 months the 'ugly' bit had better beware. congratulations.

I'd agree with everyone else CC. When I'd only been in my house 15 months ALL of my garden was an ugly mess. 6 years later, some of it still is !!!
Love the pics and look forward to seeing some of the rest of the garden when you've worked your magic on it !
