That is absolutely FABULOUS, she must feel very comfortable and safe in your garden to nest like that.

She was very happy - but the blue tits certainly weren't they had to find somewhere else to nest

What a lovely picture!
A couple of years ago the Robin who lives in the garden centre where I work took a fancy to a shelf of trays of lobelia on one of the danish trollies!
He or she decided it would be just right to build a nest in the middle of 4 of the boxes!
It was the devil's own job trying to persuade the Robin that it just wasn't a good idea!!
Eventually the Robin got the message and built the nest in a pallet of bricks on the racking!!

What a wonderful photograph, and what a gorgeous SILLY little blackbirds (probably my fave garden bird!). She obviously wanted to nest there but found the hole too small. As you say - bless her!!!

Yes Plocket they did hatch - but 2 days later they had all gone, taken by either a Bl***y Magpie or grey squirrel

We didn't let her Plocket - we put some chicken wire on top of the box - we decided that we didn't want to feed the magpie or squirrel again - I'm sure she found somewhere much safer this year. The blue tits were pleased to have somewhere to nest this year though The blue tits abandoned their nest once the blackbird chose to nest on top of the box

Yes, lovely pictures Rita. For all you know she's built her other nests very close to that one, if she liked the spot that much.....
