...for the first time ever,we've a little tunneler in the lawn.I saw the evidence yesterday afternoon and again this morning. When I went out at 8:00am,there was no more disturbed soil. When I returned at 10:30ish,there it was...and I could actually stand on the garden path and watch the turf moving.A very wierd sight. Then the little thing surfaced briefly and I saw the snout.Considering how small it was,it can do a lot of damage.I was fascinated, but hubby isn't impressed...
So any thoughts on how to persuade this visitor to go elsewhere?

I've heard people talk about putting all manner of things in their run to deter them some of the things suggested were, garlic, a cloth soaked in jeyes fluid, moth balls and cat poo!!!! Oh and of course a mole trap.

If you can stand and watch it moving the soil get hold of a spade or shovel and as it moves bring the tool down with a rapid movement and hit the place where the mole is very hard. The mole gets a severe headache and doesn't burrow ever again. Problem solved.

The mole is now gone.We set a trap and it worked first time.Sadly it was left paralysed below the waist and had been struggling to get free.It died soon after we removed it from the trap...I hate to see anything suffering and feel terrible about it.I didn't realise how this trap worked...thought we could catch the little digger and take it to the fields out of town and give it it's freedom...how naive am I? Don't answer that... Is there a mole trap that only catches but doesn't harm them?

Sorry to be a wet blanket and pourer of cold water etc. but I've tried all humane, non-lethal methods and none of them work! I've used the one from the website and can confirm, it definitely doesn't harm them! But neither does it trap them...We even tried laying them wearing gloves so there was no human odour on them but have only ever found them full of earth!
