Height wise....it's probably as big as it gets but will spread sideways....all be it slowly.
These gorgeous grasses (cortederia argentia) can be cut right down to about 12" from the soil and/or lifted and divided....if you're strong enough to dig it up !!!

Andy, I have had one in a huge pot for many years now and it is nicely contained (13 pink plumes this year). Do you think it would benefit from cutting back - if so when is the best time to do this? jl I've always been of the opinion of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" type thing. It would probably benifit from taking out of the pot, 1/3 of the soil knocking off and repotting in the same pot with new compost......a bit like you'd do with bonsai. Keep well fed and watered throughout the summer. Other, more braver souls might go further and cut back

I have a pink one in the garden and it usually flowers in the late Autumn/winter...the plumes last through to spring and the birds go crazy for the soft bits for their nests. Is mine unusual in this behaviour?
