I think it's a gorgeous combination with the grass too Jasmine. I love the way that the blue back to the flowers is quite prominent, you can't always trust the pics in catalogues can you

Lovely Jas, mine are still little but I'm wondering if growing them in pots is the best option. Is Honorine Jobert planted in the border? I got the JA collection from Haylofts and I am a bit worried about them becoming rampant if I plant them out

I looked at that collection Tig, almost went ahead and ordered it but some of them grow very tall and I worried I would'nt be able to cope with them in my windy garden.

Thanks for the nom Rosefriend. I hope yours flower for you soon - they are so pretty! Tig - Honorine de Jobert is in the border and is easily kept under control by digging out the bits that pop up - there aren't many. Queen Charlotte is a thug and is not easy to keep under control at all and Pamina started off small and behaved itself and now it seems to be getting bigger and bigger every year - it is coming out this autumn along with all the bits of Queen Charlotte that have popped up!

Pots may have to be the way forward then as both those are in the collection! Thanks Jas.

I simply love my Solanum. It cheers me up every time I open the back door, because it's straight opposite.

Thanks, Chuckles. My Anemone 'Whirlwind' is strutting its stuff too. It's a very well-behaved plant, not at all like the pink ones in the side garden.

Corydalis ochraleuca still going strong. Hardy Bidens, looking rather beaten up by the wind. Astrantia having a final fling.

Wonderful Tig, I got a lovely crop of leaves for 2 years running before mine finally gave up the will to live, I will try them again when I see some more bulbs though.

Thanks for the nom Jilly, they do seem to be quite fussy. Not too wet, not too dry, not too hot, not too cold, and remove the faded flower stem and keep feeding until it starts to go cold, then dry and keep indoors until it starts to sprout in spring, mine started a bit early and got put out in a growhouse, I thought it might sulk, but it coped

I had some T & M thimbles late last year which included some Pacific Giant Delphiniums - so far two white ones and not so giant, which is a relief as they are in the front beds and would have blown over by now and I spotted a flower on the Convolvulus cneorum.

I think this qualifies for this thread. Pams Choice, only one of loads I'd grown from saved seed, all the others turned out to be the purple ones. My Philadelphus Belle Etoile that theinsidegardener bought me smells devine.I'm going to move it in the autumn as I want it over near where I sit so I can smell it all the time.

Pam's Choice really is lovely Ladygardener - of thr two that you sent me, one is pink and one is being very elusive although I marked it with a bright yellow marker I ave yet to find it or the marker!! Philadelphus are really lovely shrubs LG and owdboggy but I especially like "Sybille" that I have had for a few years. The Styrax japonica is wonderful OB - would love to have it in the garden but I just do not have the room... A couple of whites from me.... and I must include Olaf's "Pauls Himalajan Musk" which is a dream every year but this year is around 15m already... RF
