Wow that's some tree Rosefriend, is there a musky scent from the flowers? When we were at Mt. Stewart the other day, this amazing bush was in flower and the scent was out of this world. The bees adored it as well, I think it's a Jasmine of some kind but there was nobody around to ask.

That phlox is always the first to flower RF, the others in the garden, like yours are only just getting buds on them

I wondered if the shrub was actually. Philadelphus coronaria aurea? It would certainly explain why I thought it was familiar - it was the flowers.... Just googled and it certainly looks as though you are right OB....thanks. RF

RF Rosefriend thanks for doing the taggina and owdboggy for the identification, it's good to know what it is, at Mt. Stewart it was really big and there were several of them planted along a walkway which was very sheltered in a hollow so the scent stayed around.

Stunning scarecrow it reminded me of my Rambling Rector but it doesn't look as rampant as RR is/was. I don't have it any longer and would love to have known what yours is, what a shame you don't know the name of the rose is alberic barbier
Thanks for the name, not as biggy as RR then . Mine had to go it was way to big for the area I had it, shame as its a beautiful rose

It does look wonderful Jilly, very wafty. I wish I had room for it but I know I don't although I do see plenty of the ordinary cow parsley each time I visit the allotment.

I've just spent an hour digging cow parsley out of my borders, so I'm not too struck on anything which reminds me of it It is pretty though, so it deserves a nomination
