YUM! What beeauuutiful photos BB. I really love the first two in particular. I am a proud tree hugger, me. When I win the Lottery I'm going to buy a HUGE chunk of land and plant a beech forest. With some silver birch, oaks, chestnuts, spindles, maybe even the odd conifer....hopefully WB will be able to look at these as therapy for his tree attack!

Great photo's BB - I only have one tree in my garden - an ornamental cherry - can't remember which one though. But the village is surrounded by trees and woodland ;D I am Tree Warden for our village BTW

Ooooh I'm going to have to go and find some of my tree pictures! I'm a bit of a tree-hugger and like taking photographs looking up into trees. That avenue is absolutely beautiful btw!!!

Me too. I adore beech trees especially when they first come into leaf, so beautifully fresh. Birches too and the new pink on spruce trees.........
Makes me nostalgic for the spring.

They are amazing P. They would look fabulous framed and on the wall, even black and white or the other browny colour (can't think of the word ) In those frames that hold 3 pics. sepia, thats what I meant.

Oh I like that idea Busy Bee! I've got one of those frames with five of my fave Chihully photos in it at the moment. When I get bored of them I might replace them with trees - thank you!
The reason for my taking tree photos like that btw is because I like to see the tree in more detail, rather than just it's shape from a distance. Some trees aren't very photogenic from the trunk though!!! And I'd love to hug that beautiful big tree by the road in your second photo Busy Bee - it's stunning.
And the beeches remind me of the road we lived on when I was young - it was lined with copper beech trees and it looked divine all year round, but crunching the nuts in autum made such a wonderful noise!

Ok....here's some tree photos taken at work today in the glorious autumn sun This is a wonderful view looking across Preston park in Brighton with the sun coming through the huge cornish Elms This is one of the monster English elms we have in the park.....all reported to be around 250-300 years old A tulip tree (lirodendron tulipifera) in full autumn splendor The same tree looking up through the branches Could be a tree....could be a shrub !!!! this is the unmistakeable twisted hazel or corrylus avellana contorta A great view of one of the huge strawberry trees (arbutus unedo) i have. These trees have the most beautiful copper coloured bark !!! And finally for now, a view from the top of my rock garden looking over Preston park opposite

It's only a few hundred yards, but I suppose it is quite nice, the little one can have a toddle before being hoisted into the buggy. That's if she tries not to fall into the broken beer bottles, or picks up some grotty old litter, neither of which you can see in the pic. And then the council had a purge on tree felling earlier in the year, so there are big gaps now at the far end where the road is more visible [the pic was taken this time last year, I've lost the camera charger ] I shouldn't complain though, better than walking along a dual carriageway! ;D

Wow folks
These are fantastic pictures. Thank you all.
I love trees. My favourite sight of the whole year is a majestic oak in full leaf, laden with acorns on a beautiful early September day when the sun is shining and the sky is blue. Bliss !

Just looked back on this thread and realised what an old misery I must sound! Moaning on, when I should be lucky that I still have some old established trees literally on my doorstep. It's just a shame that something so beautiful as a mini woodland is always spoiled by 'youths' that haven't got to an age where they appreciate what we have around us, and without it, there wouldn't be us. Ooh dear, had a glass of wine tonight!

Never mind Jonah! They do say youth is wasted on the young, don't they? I love love love these pictures. Plocket's montage makes me itch to get my drawing and painting stuff out and get lost in a painting. I know I keep saying it but WHAT a wonderful world. I've had a few problems myself lately but who cares? It's a privilege to be out there with all those wonderful plants, trees, creatures (maybe even rats.....? NAH!). People who don't enjoy these things must be spiritually dead, really stoopid or zombies! I'm off outside to kiss my goats.........

4P
I've recently been reminded by another boarder that I should count my blessings more often. If you look at the news any night of the week, it seems that there is nothing but war, hatred, death and destruction in the world these days (is there any good news these days ?). When you look at the poverty, disease, famine and wars going on around the world, it makes you realise that actually things ain't so bad. I know we all have problems and we all have our ups & downs but when you think about it - in the grand scheme of things, they're usually not THAT important.
Try to see the positive side of things - your glass is half full, not half empty - and try to see things from a positive perspective. It's not always easy - I can be a right miserable git when I want to be - but try not to let the b**tards grind you down !
FA xx

The weekend was fine and with that feeling of "cozy and snugged in"I thought I'd place the wood behind my workspace on here. It is the oldest park in Amsterdam and trees are allowed to do their own thing mostly. Some are unsharp but there you have it. Dutchy

This park is in Amsterdam Noord. No tourists, just some people walking their dog some kids from the school nearby but only in the first bit of the park. The end bit is almost empty. I sometimes go for a walk and meet no one. I love it and hope it will stay as it is. Dutchy

I never really commented on all the pics last time, but there are some beautiful sights on here. Nothing like a woodland scene is there, peaceful, calm and brimming full of life. If I come back in another life I want to be a tree!
One thing to remember is, whether things are better or worse these days, because of modern communication advances we hear and see a lot more of the bad than in days gone by.
