Wasnt sure where to Post this but think General Board is as good a place as any These photos sent to me from friend in the US The Glasswing Butterfly Lives in South America. A butterfly with transparent wings is rare and beautiful. As delicate as finely blown glass, the presence of this rare tropical gem is used by rain forest ecologists as an indication of high habitat quality and its demise alerts them of ecological change. I'd probably have plumped for the gallery to post the pictures but it doesn't really matter - they're absolutely stunning wherever you put them !

Jenny Wrenn inadvertently posted this thread on the General Board rather than the Garden Gallery. She has asked if I could delete the thread having first transferred the posts to the new thread - on the same subject - that she has started in the gallery.
