Oh Dear Rosefriend anyone would be forgiven for thinking it's still January. Keep warm and safe, I don't envy you clearing the 3 paths today.

Rosefriend - think we've had enough of your snow now, please take it all back!! It's just not stopped since yesterday evening and with the gales it's banked up quite high in places I donned my Hello Kitty wellies, old leather coat, hat, gloves and went to clear a path so that Cat won't get snowy paws (she hates snow!) if she needs to go to the loo (think she's been keeping her legs crossed for the past 24 hours!) I'm not sure why I bothered though, it looks like a lot more will fall, can hardly make out the difference between the garage roof and the snow-laden sky!

Awwwww Tig - I love to share....pwetty innit !!!! I have to admit that I am sick to death of the snow but the terrible East wind and sub zero temps - minus 11C on the cards for us tonight makes me wish that we still had some snow left as this wind is a real plant killer - I reckon some things will have bitten the dist!! Ah now I get it. We have a true easterly storm blowing and the white is not falling because RF sent it to you Tig. Thanks RF it sure makes things easier on me. Snow is pretty but there is a time for everything turn turn turn and a season..... for Spring. Gallivanting lambs and such... In the meantime, Nice pics.

It's a similar picture here Tig . I was on the phone to Jenny a little while ago and they have no snow at all, we heard a loud crash and it was a huge amount of snow falling off the roof opposite me, I would'nt like to have been underneath it. There's a bit of a thaw at the moment but it gives freezing conditions this evening again.

More is forecast overnight, the temperature never rose above freezing all day and it's dropping again now, the roads and footpaths are treacherous.

It looks so pretty though Tig even if the frost means that it's probably on it's way out until next year. I love this one too, I must go round all my stems that I've left on & see which ones are likely to look like this & cut back the ones that (as is more likely with all the rain we've had) just look brown & manky looking for both of these pics. All your pics are lovely Tig! That touch of frost just changes things and makes them look stunning!

Doesn't fresh snow always look lovely? At least your plants now have a blanket against the hard frosts RF Please don't send any this way though - much as I like to look at it I don't like going out in it!

If that's slight I'd hate to see what they call a heavy one Rosefriend, it shows up your lovely chimney sweep really well though.

If that's slight I'd hate to see what they call a heavy one Rosefriend, it shows up your lovely chimney sweep really well though. More to come apparently but we are warm and cosy - that's the main thing. The chimney sweep has literally overnight taken on a new meaning...when we bought it we named it Hermann after our Chimney sweep that we have both known over 30 years. He came as usual last year and I was going to take a pic of him and our Hermann as he wandered through the garden, but he got a call and had to run... Two days ago he was called to a chimney fire by the Fire Brigade a couple of houses away from where he lives in the village and literally dropped dead when he arrived. He was only just 53...he will be sorely missed - pleased we have our Hermann and the real Hermann saw it and liked it.
