OMD - ![](http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r42/GWDAdmin/music.gif) Tesla Girls ![](http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r42/GWDAdmin/music.gif) Extremely good taste, young man (although not one of their better tracks). My favourite band. Going to see them live at Hammersmith in May. FA

Hi FA O.M.D are Joan of Arc (Maid of Orleans) is still in my top 10 of everything I've listened to. That intro is ... Is that the Architecture & Morality tour?? It must be. Enjoy. The only bands I'd like to see live again from the 80's are ABC***, Simple Minds, Soft Cell, The Associates and O.M.D. I saw The Human League 2yrs ago. They were definitely worth the ticket fees. ... But I still enjoy 'modern' music ... Pink has produced 3 great albums. The Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers have brought some fresh sounds. Snow Patrol and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Been great since the 90's) are always worth listening to. Music is according to taste. I'm currently listening to The Seahorses "Blinded by The Sun" from the Do It Yourself album. Well worth a listen IMO

Welshie It is the Architecture & Morality tour that I'm going to see in May. And then the Greatest Hits tour I'm going to see in June (but haven't told Mrs FA about that yet ![](http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r42/GWDAdmin/Smileys/whistling.gif) ). I've seen them live 8 or 9 times (can't remember) but not since 1993 and now I'm seeing them twice, doing 2 different sets, in the space of 5 weeks. Bliss !!! Architecture & Morality is most definitely THE album for me. If I had to choose only 1 album I could listen to for the rest of my life that would be it. My avatar at the moment is the cover of the 7" of Maid of Orleans by the way. I quite liked the Associates too. They certainly had a distinctive sound. Didn't the lead singer die fairly recently ? I do like some modern stuff too though - "Eyes Open" by Snow Patrol is a superb album and "American Idiot" by Green Day was my favourite album last year. FA PS - In case you're interested, OMD are playing St David's Hall, Cardiff on 25 June......... www.livenation.co.uk/events/event_info.aspx?rid=220665&&shortcut=OMDFPRESALE

Hi CC & FA. The Assosciates are definitetly a blast from the past but "18 carat love affair" still one of my fave tracks. Sadly you're right FA, Billy Mackenzie committed suicide in 1997 at the tender young age of 39 ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) As for OMD in Cardiff ... unfortunately my son's playing in a football tournament then. (He'd better make it big because he owes me a lot of favours !!!)

I liked "Party Fears Two" best. My brother had it on 7" vinyl and we played it a lot.
39 is no age, is it (same age as me and I'm just a slip of a lad !). It always saddens me when I hear of talented people (well, any people really) killing themselves at such a young age. Who knows what heights they could've reached and what successes they may have had. It always seems such a waste. If they died in an accident you could accept it more but when they actually purposely kill themselves, it seems all the more tragic.

COOL Juliet (how are you btw? And how's the house-hunting going?)!!! I only know the song because it's my mum and dad's fave - I love it too, but then I guess I grew up with it! Ottilie Patterson's voice is just divine ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) We've got "From a Jack to a King" on at the moment but I can't remember who sung it!!! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

Hi Plocket, I'm OK, bit tired - doing too much. House-hunting is very slow - too difficult to find anywhere which is quiet enough but not near fields which might be sprayed with pesticides. We're looking all over Cambridgeshire & into Beds/Suffolk/Norfolk as well. House-selling on the other hand is likely to be very fast - all the agents who valued our house said it would sell within days as they're in so much demand round here. So we really need to find somewhere to move to! I blush to admit I don't actually know any of Chris Barber's music ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) My parents are into crooners and classic fm type of thing ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png)

Well good luck with your search Juliet - make sure you get the right house rather than a compromise. And I hope you have enough time to get back to normal too.
I wouldn't worry about not knowing Chris Barber - he was a band leader I think, and I only know the name because of M&D's taste in music.
We are listening to UB40 now - sunshine music! ;D

As quite a few of us seem to be into music, maybe we could all list our CD collections out and then if anyone wants something they haven't got, all they need to do is PM and ask for a copy. Then they can exchange addresses, send a blank CD and get a copy of whatever album you want burnt and sent back.
Good idea or a load of rubbish ?
FA x
PS - I've got about 150 CD's so it may take a while to list them. I expect many have got more than that !

I think it's a fab idea FA, but it would take me a while to list my/OHs music collection, and I'm not sure I want to share my address. I'd be happy to e-mail music though, or PM it if that's possible.

Hmmmm, Plocket, I don't know how you'd get round that issue. If you don't want to share addresses, I don't know how you could share music. I've never emailed music before. Anyone know if it's possible ?
