It's another Stolenoffaskippii ;D I think it's a Paperbark Maple Where I have planted it, it will likely have to be cut down eventually Hopefully when I'm deid ;D

Oh thats lovley WT makes me want to go out with my camera and do some bark spotting. In New Zealand they have a tree called a Kauri which is humumgus and its bark feels like a pebble from a stream very smooth, cool but warm as well, it just made me want to hug it which I did.

It took me awhile to work out woof woof - as in dog's "bark"!
I think I'll have al look at some tree bark as well.

It was bought way back in 1992 as Acer Shigitatsu Sawa Ruthie, and the foliage is just as I would expect, however the colourful bark never seems to be mentioned in any of the write-ups Not that I'm complaining, I love it, bright green leaves emerge from pink buds in spring, which then turn a darker green, to be followed by excellent reddish amber autumn colour, a real do-er! x Tig
