Has anyone else grown Ipomoea Cameo Elegance? They say it's more of a trailer than a climber, and suited for baskets. Even so, after growing er, I mean developing, for 3 months I expected a bit more than 3 inches!! Even the Lobelia has overtaken them! They are nice and healthy, and got flower buds on, but soo ickle!

I have never grown them at all, but I must admit that I rather like the look of them - perhaps they put on an end spurt when they start flowering.

Will post a photo when ( if? ) they get going RF. Should be lovely red flowers. They were a bit of a pain to grow. Sporadic germination and some seedlings just sort of faded away so only got 4 plants, but I've not got ideal growing conditions, only windowsills.

I was in a large GC today and there thousands of seeds and I asked if they happened to have Ipomoea Cameo Elegance - well I got a pardon and a shoulder shrug - if it's not there we haven't got it look.
I think that I better look in my catalogues.

Despite the lack of flower I like the foliage NightOwl. All in all it does look a very healthy plant.

I'm growing Ipomoea cardinal...sposed to be a morning glory type...the flowers are only about an inch across but are a lovely deep red, it's galloping away on my gazebo along with the mina lobata.

Since I posted that photo on 21st June they have hardly grown at all, and one bud has opened. Pathetic little flower though a lovely deep red. Definitely not worth the time and effort My other Morning Glories (Grandpa Otts and Milky Way) are also galloping all over the place. Lots of healthy foliage but a bit short on flowers

Could be the bad weather influencing them. I'd wait some longer until after august to give a verdict on the little red Ipomoea. It might speed up when the weather is fine again.

All 2 of them so far Chuckles! And not so spectacular that you'd want to show off about them.
