Hi Didn't really know where to put this but my cousin came to stay for the weekend and bought me a really unusual set of wind chimes. Apparently, when they fill with rain, their tone changes. I really like them. What do you think ? FA x

Don't get me started on Wind Chimes Andy! Whilst I agree that yours look very nice indeed, I am happy that they are well out of (my) earshot in Suffolk. I suppose it comes down to a matter of personal taste, like the sound of running water, which IMO is best experienced via the bathroom tap whilst cleaning my teeth! ;D <MiserableOldGitsmiley> ;D

Each to their own mate. I love the sound of bamboo wind chimes - I find it very relaxing. These new ones are a little different but not unpleasant to me !!

I would love to have wind chimes in the garden but OH will not let me. He said the sound would drive him bonkers. Never mind that he howls and plays guitar at midnight regardless of our poor neighbours. I can't quite get the scale of your new windchimes PJ

Oh they are GORGEOUS FA - I need some!!! I love wind chimes but the ones I have are rather loud for our little garden (metal tubes) so I have them in the house near a window we open regularly during the day. I love the sound of running water too

I think they are pretty cute too Andy. ;D
I also realise that some cant stand wind chimes but cannot for the life of me understand why they were BANNED from a children's cemetery in Bognor some years ago!!!!

I quite like them FA for their novelty value. Dont know how it would hold up when filled with water though I have a largish garden and it's quite exposed so we get lots of wind here. I can imagine in smaller spaces chimes might be intrusive but in the end it's down to personal taste I guess.

Go to "Garden & DIY", then page 132-133 www.kleeneze.co.uk/main-book/index.htmlAs for scale, the biggest item (the bucket at the bottom) is only about 3 inches tall ! I knew they wouldn't be to everyone's taste but I like them and so does Mrs FA, Jenny ! FA x

I think they are brilliant FA and can just imagine you untangling them after a gale. Perhaps a sheltered location might be called for

I think that they're smashing FA!....I have a few in the conservatory, and love them tinkling away in the breeze...but our garden's quite small and the neighbours quite close...so I don't have any in the garden.... ;D (next door have some bamboo ones but OH doesn't like them much...shame)

I love your wind chimes FA ;D I have 3 sets in the garden - they aren't that noisy At the bottom of our garden live 2 HUGE great barking dogs ( newfoundlands ?) and a little girl who always seems to be crying My neighbour has a very yappy little jack russell - named George and very cute My other neighbours always seem to be knocking something down - bang, bang, bang! If I have to put up with their noise then they will have to put up with my wind chimes

Lovely wind chimes FA, it will be interesting when it rains. I wonder if they will fill with water to a certain point, and then provide a waterfall effect?? I love wind chimes of all shapes and sizes, we have loads inside and outside. Our "special" ones we keep inside next to frequently opened windows....

Actually, they don't "chime" that much. Just make a metallic "chinking" sort of sound.

I'm very picky when it comes to wind chimes. I don't mind tinkly bell ones, and yours would probably be OK too FA. I have cow-bell ones and can just about suffer them. But bamboo ones make me want to tear my hair out. Or maybe dive off a tall building. But I have very acute hearing. When I lived where there was street lighting, I had to wear earplugs to get to sleep because I could hear them humming.
