For those of you that enjoy ID-ing strange plants, here's a couple I came across in Kos, Greece last week. I've got no idea what they are. Firstly this gorgeous shrub, about 8ft high. Also, this lovely tree, about 15-20ft high. The flowers were a bit like Mirabilis and it had little green fruits like baby apples. Anyone got a clue what they are

hi nightowl, the nearest i can come to with the yellow one is thevetia, I didn't answer this earlier because my books describe the fruits as triangular but they don't look like that at all on the web. the flowers on the red one remind me a bit of erythrina but i'll keep looking

Hi Beanie. I think you are right with the Thevetia. It looks like it to me, even down to the actual shape of the tree. Not so sure about the red shrub being Erythrina though... The pictures on the net don't seem to match the shape of the bush I saw, and most of the varieties seem to have a bulkier and more closely-packed flower...... Thanks for the help.

Sorry Beanie, I take that back Have just found one called Erythrina x bidwillii ( Indian Coral Tree) that matches it exactly except for size. My Greek one is obviously just a youngster! Thanks again Beanie
