Listeners to Classic fm will have heard this one
A rabbit goes into a nearly empty pub and orders a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toasty. The landlord is a bit bemused but serves him anyway. The rabbit downs his pint and his toasty and leaves. The other customers are fascinated
Word gets round and the next night the pub is half full. The rabbit comes in and orders a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toasty. The landord serves him with a smile. The rabbit drinks his beer and eats his toasty and leaves. The other customers are delighted.
The next night the pub is full. The rabbit comes in and orders a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toasty. The landlord serves him with a broad grin on his face. The rabbit quoffs his beer and wolfs down his toasty and leaves. The other customers give him a round of applause
The next night it is standing room only. The rabbit comes in and orders a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toasty. The landlord is overjoyed. But he has run out of ham. He tells the rabbit that he can't give him a ham and cheese toasty but can offer a nice cheese and onion toasty. The rabbt is a bit doubtful but orders it anyway, drinks his beer and eats his toasty. The place erupts with cheers and applause and the rabbit leaves.
He never came in again
A year later the landlord is cleaning the bar in his empty run-down pub. A ghostly shape appears and the landlord recognises the rabbit.
"You are the rabbit who ordered a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toasty three nights running last year"
"That's right" the rabbit replies
"And the fourth night you had a pint of beer and a cheese and onion toasty"
"That's right" the rabbit replies
"But why did you never come in again?"
"I died" the rabbit replied
"Oh I am sorry." the landlord said. "What did you die of?" > > > > > > > > > > > > > > "Mixing me toasties"

Superb! More of an Angora Rabbit story (less cheap and fluffy).
