Rain stopped play at lunchtime today but the guys have still made progress. And to all those who nagged me yesterday, I've asked if they can do some of the cementing as LP gets home from school one day so she can scratch her name in it. Happy now? ? ;D

You can just imagine it can't you.
In 20 or 30 years time when Big P is even older than she is now, and in her dotage, and Little P has become a mature gardener and is a regular on the GW Messageboard, she will be telling everyone how her life was blighted by a heartless Mum who wouldn't even let her make a handprint in the wet cement of her new porch. From then on she had a fear of putting her plants in her own porch incase it incurred the disapproval of her Mother.
Sigh!

PML Sleepy!!! The main purpose of the porch is to put plants in - what else do you think I want it for??? Coat-hanging is a secondary factor. And I AM letting her de-face the cememt when the time comes so her life WON'T be blighted!!! Oh and I told LP she'd be able to write her name in the cement and she didn't really get the idea. I had to explain that it would be written in the cement FOR EVER - REAL LIVE, and THEN I think she latched on to the idea!

Me? Grumpy? As if....!
Glad you listened to us in the end. But I thought the cement had dried? Did you tell her she could write her name in the cement as you handed her a chizel and mallet?

PML Sleepy! Noooooooooooooo! The guys are going to save a bit of the cementing until just as LP comes home from school one day so it's nice and fresh for her to deface! Can you see the drainage channel coming in from the right? Well it's going to continue around the porch and they are going to cement it in - she can write in that bit, and I can then put a plant-pot on top of it!!!!!!!!! ;D Of course I'll forgive him Sweetleaf - I like him really!!!

Hehehehe! They are going to do the last bit of cementing shortly so I hope it will still be wet for LP. They are finishing the building today and think that the roof might go on next week - fingers crossed!!!
