I have to remind my OH every year that Christmas will be on 25th December He leaves his Christmas shopping to the last gasping minute and then complains that the shops were packed and parking was a nightmare So I've added a Christmas themed Ticker to my signature for the benefit of any other liked minded blokes reading these boards www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.phpTickers can be set up for all kinds of events BTW ;D

Up until last year Christmas shopping used to start in earnest on 9th December, as that coincided with my Lloyds TSB credit card statement date. Subsequent expenditure due for payment by end of January etc. This year Lloyds TSB have changed their billing system so that the statement date for the same card is now the 22nd of the month. Even I daren't leave things until 22nd December, so I guess that I will have to be a little more organised this year.

The ticker idea is brilliant Rita but how do I plug it into OH's brain? I know for a fact he won't remember our wedding anniversary which is soon and I'll have to keep reminding him that it's Christmas!!!

My OH doesn't read the calendar Rita - how on earth did you train your OH to do that? ? I have to e-mail my OH at work if I want him to actually take note of something! ;D

I didn't train him Plocket, it just happened. We used to have a very heavy social calender and I needed to plan way ahead to be sure our babysitter wasn't booked by anyone else. Most of the functions we attended were OH work related, so it was his job to make sure that those date were put on the calendar. I always put what I'm up to on the calender, council meetings, hair and dental appointments, etc. OH does the same, which serves as a reminder to me when planning meals, especially if he is going to be away from home for some reason or night flying I put all birthdays and anniversaries on the calender too. But Christmas always comes as a shock to him, I think he is old enough and bright enough to have worked out that it falls on the same date every year. ;D I think the truth of the matter is that he hates Christmas as it has become to commercial, and I agree with him.

I put everything on the calendar too, including when OH is away on business. I always ask him to write things down on it for me but he never does - I guess he thinks it's my domain or something!!!
Funny about Christmas being a shock to men - my dad's the same!!!

I think I'd better introduce you to Romeo, FA - then you can be grumpy about Christmas together - he is always saying Bah Humbug! His birthday is on 27th December so he hardly gets any cards or presents because everyone is so busy doing Christmas instead & often his birthday is a bank holiday so there's no post . He likes getting Christmas cards though
