I've still got daffy bulbs in the shed and was going to put them to good use around the headstone of my grandas grave. It is a bit late but providing the bulbs are in good condition they will still flower this year, just a bit late. Nothing wrong with a bit of late colour, not that anyone there is in a hurry.

We put snowdrops on my gran's grave. Technically it's not her grave but her 2 sister's but we put her ashes there too... Apparently we have to avoid planting anything yellow there because the rabbits like eating them. Dunno why it's just yellow plants but they seem to like them.

I walk through the local cemetry most days as it's a wee short cut to town or daughters school. Looking at some of the plots there, there's a load of them well looked after and look like little garden, in the summer there's quite a few of them got those solar lights and looks quite nice at last light when they are on but it's still not too dark to see the flowers.

We arent allowed to plant on graves its in the contract, the parish council mows across the graves and we arent even allowed to put a surround on them, only a small vase, on the plinth. I wish I had known that before my parents were buried there. I want a different style of eternal rest. If solar lights were placed they would be stolen, IMO

Some have been stolen in the past but then returned at night time after it had been in the local rag, theives must have felt guilty about it.
It's not as stuffy here, it takes the authorities all there time to clean the place, even after the high winds we had lately, holly wreathes were everywhere.

I bought some packets of summer bulbs today that should have been planted in the autumn. I'm going to start them off in pots first but the dilema is do I put them in the heated greenhouse or the unheated coldframe?

Hi Legendryone, don't worry your bulbs will flower this year, just a bit late thats all. Next year their own little timer will set them off at their normal time. ;D
