Haven't done one for a while. Remember the pink daff Poll? ;D Then the Busy Lizzie one. Thought it was about time for another.
I STILL LIKE THE PINK DAFFS THOUGH!

LOVE lilys, in the garden, in a vase anywhere really!!.
I understand it's only the pollen which can be harmful to cats ( I could be wrong), so I nip out the pollen, that way also you don't get it staining everywhere.

Sorry but I had to vote for "hate them" - I find them unattractive, I don't like the scent, and they make me think of funerals. ;D

I agree about the scent. Reminds me of burning bakolite.

There isn't a voting category for me - quite like some of them but wouldn't have them even though I don't have cats because I'd hate to be responsible for the death of someone else's cat. I love Hemerocallis & I wouldn't have those as they can kill cats too, apparently FA - not sure about the new avatar

I have them mainly in tubs at the side of the GH, although there are a few in the front garden border. I didn't know about the potential danger to cats though. So I'm definitely a love them wouldn't be without them!

Isn't it funny how different all our tastes are in flowers? If we started a list of each member's fave flowers I bet almost everyone would select something different!
I guess I've got an incomplete garden then, but I've never thought of my garden as incomplete!!!

I do like them and have some in pots (away from cats) but I'm not a fanatic or anything. They seem to be one of the trendy plants at the moment as lots of magazines offered them free or for not much money. They don't seem to last very long in my garden which is why I wouldn't go OTT about them.

I think they've got pretty flowers but I'm not that keen on the smell.

Love 'em garden not complete without them. I have all mine in pots and they are all Scented Orientals. At the moment they are stashed away and once they show about 6" of growth I arrange them around two benches and along the path from the back door. I love sitting out on a summers evening and loosing myself in the perfume. When I was working in an office I used to picked some and had them in a vase on my desk, some people loved it and some complained of the heavy scent. The office was open plan and held around 250 people I have to confess in an enclosed space they can be a bit over powering though.

Well I love them but don't plant them because of the cats but seeing the advice about nipping out the pollen and Sweetleaf told of a new type that are ?pollenless? I may have to get a few ;D. However, I found lily beetle on my snowdrops last year and I suspect they may cause me a few headaches on actual lilies! How do you all control this pesky pest?

I love them and my cats - had cats and lilies in pots for years I do cut out the stamens now to stop my clothes getting stained.

Can I have a whole new voting category added please? It would read 'Love them but got rid of the lot last year because the dratted lily beetle population decimated the lot'! I have a lot of lovely memories including lilies, I usually like the smell and sometimes buy them as cut flowers - and their bright colours usually usually make a wonderful contrast against my dark purple sitting room walls...

Sorry Margi, I tried to modify the poll (like you can for posts) but it's not there. I 'spose you cant really change a poll half way through. However, I reckon mine would be eaten too (my mums over the road always are) and this is also putting me off getting any as I hear there is no 'cure' for lily beetle. (Or as CC might say ladybirds with no spots )

Don't worry, Skarloey - I reckon everyone else would want to change to the new category, which would really screw your numbers up!!! Thanks for trying anyway...

Hi Margi, I finally made it onto this board to share addresses for the Christopher Lloyd tribute programme. I may take a couple of hours/days to get back as I'm in and out of these sites. But rest assured, I'll get back to you soon. Copywrite

You must get African Queen Susie, it is tall and the smell is devine, sort of a warm smell and not too over powering or heady. I'm sooo enviuos of all your new lillies, mine were a bit poor this year. If they don't buk up this year I will be getting new ones in October time

My favourite, in spite of the lil' red blighters that copulate all over them. I have a "lily avenue" and many in pots. Some are already raising their heads in pots in the garage at the moment.
