I just divide my clumps from time to time. Anyway, I've found this useful link which should hopefully tell you all you need to know. www.pfaf.org/leaflets/daylily.phpSpruance

:)thanks for that great web site, spruance, I usually split my clumps as well, but having found the seeds, thought i would try some-thing different.

Hi Barbara and welcome ! I usually divide my day lilies but have had them self seed as well. I just allow them to germinate where they fall and either pot them up or transplant them to another part of the garden. From my garden, they do **far** better germinating in the garden soil than waiting for me to fuss over them and kill them with kindness in a pot. LOL!! Best of luck with your charity work!
