Hi all,
Just came back from the local newsagent where I went to get this month's issue of the Irish Garden ... only to be told that they no longer stock it because there's no demand. They did however, have 14 (fourteen) interiors magazines, including a publication of which I had never heard: "Irish Kitchens and Bathroom". Sic. And yes, I counted them - how anal is that? What, do people wake up and say "Oh, I must get the latest issue of Irish Kitchens and Bathrooms. Must see if now is the right time to sow a loo seed or take a jacuzzi cutting"? And there were tons of 'celebrity' magazines. But ... no Irish Garden. Or any other gardening magazine, for that matter. .... Gggrrgh ...

well if someone is asking for it then surely there is a demand for it? Unless there isn't enough of a demand for it and they get charged by the supplier if they don't order a certain amount of stuff from them?

Hi CC
When my local newsagent stopped stocking Gardens Illustrated (because there was no demand), I took out a subscription (and I got a free gift which was a really good Christopher Lloyd garden book - about £15's worth!!). I get the magazine delivered to my home before it's even in the shops. ;D Can you subscribe to Irish Garden?
Best Wishes GH

I susbscribe to GYO and got fed up sending the OH out for Kitchen Garden on the due date, only for him to come back with last months edition, and was about to subscribe to that as well, when lo and behold our local co-op two mins down the road has started stocking it.
so for the time being i've decided to keep my business local, until they decide there is no interest of course.
you could always place a regular order of course, but that kinda take the sponteneity out of it.

Well, this seems to be a common problem! Subscribing probably makes sense, although I generally like to give local newsagents the business ... cheers ...
