Hi all, i've just been introduced to this board by Rita. Here's a very brief CV.
My name's Andy and i live just outside Brighton. Married to Sharon with 8 year old daughter Katie. Pets include a nutty springer spaniel called Murphy, cat called Daisy, 60 gallon tropical fish tank, 1,000 gallon pond, 3,000 gallon koi pond.
I've been a profesional gardener for 25 years. I did a 4 year apprentiseship on Brighton parks and gardens gaining all the city and guilds qualifications in decorative horticulture.
I finally opted to work in their stunning nursery where i was responsible for many glasshouse ornamental species over the 12 years i was there....finally ending up looking after their gorgeous palm house until it closed in 1993.
I left Brighton parks and joined Rentokil tropical plants where i looked after many prestigous interior plant displays, many of them in huge atriums in the west end of London.
But, i always considdered Brighton parks to be my ancestral home and returned there nearly 8 years ago where i became garden manager for the superbly impressive Preston rock garden which sits on the main A23 as you enter Brighton.
So, There you have it, hopefully i can help out as much as possible and maybe you might be able to help me too.
Oh....and if anyone is ever passing the rock garden, please pop in and i'll happily show you around
Andy

Hi Andy,
Welcome to Garden World! ;D
Hopefully we can live up to Rita's recommendation.
What a lucky chap you are, gardening for a living!
You could probably teach us a thing or two about gardening but if there is anything else you need to know just ask away on the open board or via PM to one of the admins.

Hi Andy and Welcome Gather from the avatar you too are a fan!! ;D Must agree, you are very lucky to garden for a living, the Palm House must have been great, why did it have to close? My burning question is....if you garden all day do you still garden when you get home!?! Best Wishes GH
