Hi all,
a few weeks ago I took seeds from my foxtail lily and they've been drying in a an envelope; I want to give them to a friend who's revamping a massive garden. I understand that they'll flower in around two/three years from seed, but when should the seed be sown? Would now be OK? Any advice gratefully received ... cheers ...

Hi CC, I always sow bulb seeds as soon as they are ripe, as some have a very short viability. Others even if sown immediately won't start to grow until the parent bulb does (if that makes sense) so it can sometimes be months before you see any signs of germination. Eremurus can take more like 5 years to flower from seed as well
