I have some cuttings I took from a buch of carnations my daughter bought me ( a la GH ). 2 of them are now about 1foot high and have buds waiting to open, the others are also doing well. Should I keep them in pots over winter or is it safe to plant them out?

Well the ground is still quite warm, so they should be able to put on some root growth before the winter

Whilst tidying up in the garden today I came across 2 pots that I'd had Carnations in over the summer, I'd put them under a bench at the top of the garden out of the way till I had time to sort them out, as you do Well.....they have lovely green growth on them, about 4" long. I'm going to try and get them going as cuttings tomorrow

Well I took about 15 side shoots off the Carnations I found and have potted them up and put them in a seed tray with a lid on and lets see if they root. Suppose I could have put them in the heated prop
