I have a book at home that I have never really bother with but I'm going to have to have a look at it now, basically it lists almost every ilness ailment that you could get and tells you wich food (mostly veg) will help you, or which will help prevent it. May put some of the info on the new web site.

Morning, I have this book and refer to it all the time! I have 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren so you'd think I was up on this of thing but the memory cells don't retain like they used to! It's a good book to put by the loo for browsing - say no more..... Even now if smallest daughter says "I don't like this..." I can come back with a snappy unarguable reply gleaned from this book!

I have that book too, agree with 4P its not one you can retain in memory but as a ref its invaluable... careful though if you`ve got a good imagination you could be convinced you are sick even if you`re not! Another good one is The illustrated Encyclopaedia of Healing Remedies which covers homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Bach flower, etc remedies very useful but again not for those with an active imagination.

I've got it too - it's really informative, and I actually used it to diagnose (accurately) two of my ex's serious health problems! He obviously then went to the doctor with a list of symptoms and had the ailments confirmed, and one of them definitely wasn't in the 'possibly it's this...' list before he mentioned it!!!
As a person interested in herbs and healing too, especially from a historic point of view, it's good at mixing old and new viewpoints in an easily approachable way... 9.9 out of 10!

BTW the .1 it lost is just on principle, because Readers' Digest hassled me to buy it rather than leave me to find it on my own...!

The book is VERY GOOD. It is informative, easily understood and actually gives good information that people can use and see benefits. I copied portions of the book and sent it through e mail before I sent a copy of the whole book to a cyber friend in Cuba.
His mother has uncontrolled diabetes. With just diet modifications and the suggestions from the book, this lovely lady was able to get her blood sugar down from 400 to 198. Still not ideal but much improved!

Sounds like a really good book... might have a wander down to the library (when it's open of course) and have a look

I've just bought it on Amazon very cheaply too. Different prices depending on which year it was published in, mine's 1997. I'm sure it'll be OK, unless foods that healed in the 1997 edition now do you in!.
