Hello drbill, Things are taking shape - It will be so good when it is all finished and I am sure it will be worth all the hassle you have had the past few months!
Your garden will soon recover! Best Wishes Pam

Good luck Drbill its a stressful time doing up the house, i remember when we did ours, we used to count the stars in our bed at night. Wer could see the stars from the living room.
Just think how good it will be when its finished, and how much pleasure it will give you.

I think it looks really good DrBill! I know you're getting stressed about all the mess etc but eventually it will be a really good addition to your home! And think of how you can rework your garden.....I should stick your head in a few seed catalogues until it's all finished, then you can dream about all the fun parts to come!

Don't know what the Building Control people are like up your way Bill but ours down here wouldn't let you build on a reinforced raft foundation as in your piccies! Flipping great 1.200 mtr footings here for a dog kennel.
Always like to see soldier courses over windows and openings myself but they cost more from some brickies.

Hia DrBill! It's looking really good and I do hope that the progress is making you think a bit more positively about the project. Whether you can imagine how it will look finished or not it will make your house bigger and more comfortable, albeit eventually. Hang in there! ;D

Today the builders have started taking out the interior walls. We went out for the afternoon and came back to half a kitchen, walls demolished, dust and filth everywhere. Mrs Bill saw it all and burst into tears.
But they were tears of joy, because she could see the wonderful space which will now be our kitchen/dining room.
Maybe we have reached the nadir and the only way now is up
